2013 update 3
Nare Hotel and AONB Forum update 3. 07.03.2013
Two meetings are coming up next week:
Next Saturday 16th March is the Cornwall AONB Annual Forum. Its theme is Localism. It's an important day for anyone who's interested in community involvement in planning.
I'll be giving a presentation as one of two local voices. It's a good opportunity for the Friends of Pendower Beach to make a contribution to the localism idea and demonstrate why neighbourhood planning is so important.
If any supporters are interested in coming it would be great to see you there. It's free, but you do need to let Karen Johns know a.s.a.p., preferably by Friday afternoon. firstname.lastname@example.org Programme and booking forms are attached.
On Tuesday evening 12th March in Veryan parish hall there will be an open public meeting to discuss The Nare Hotel development. This is your chance to ask questions and find out more about the proposals.
5-7pm Open viewing of plans and display of proposals by Nare Hotel Ltd
7-8pm Open public meeting chaired by P Tregunna. Q & A session.
The architects for the development will be present.
We have now submitted our comments on the application to the Planning Department. You'll find these attached with revised sketch impressions in grey.
One or two of you have asked me if we are against any development of the hotel. I hope the attached comments make it clear that it's essentially the scale of the development we're objecting to. I believe we all want the Nare Hotel to succeed and thrive and would not want to obstruct development which is appropriate to its setting.
With all good wishes
