2013 update 5

Posted by admin on June 11, 2017

On Monday 18th March Veryan Parish Council voted by 5 votes to 4 that the Nare Development application should not be opposed.  Its opinion will now be sent to Martin Woodley, the Cornwall Council Planning Officer responsible for the application.  He will take this view into account.

If you disagree with the Parish Council's opinion, please post your objection on the Council's planning portal, email planning@cornwall.gov.uk or write to Cornwall Council Central Planning Team, Carrick House, Truro, Pydar Street TR1 1EB

It would be helpful if, in your own words, you could make the following points:

Veryan Parish Council have taken no account of the objections to the application raised by the National Trust, the Cornwall AONB unit, Natural England and the Friends of Pendower Beach.  All these organisations have said they are not against improvement of the hotel, but object to the scale of the proposed development.  They have stressed that the application fails to comply with the powerful planning restraint policies which apply to sites with AONB, SSSI, SAC and Heritage Coast designation.

Veryan Parish Council have also failed to take account of the many objections put forward by residents of the parish and many individuals throughout the Roseland and elsewhere.

You wish your objection to the application to be taken into account in making a decision.

This is of major importance both for the protection of our local landscape and for our local democracy.

Warmest thanks for your support.

Yours Helen
